今天给大家讲跟 end 有关的四个固定词组： at the end of、by the end of、to the end、in the end 的用法。这几个词组的区别，和他们前面的介词 at、by、to、in 基本用法有关。
1. at the end of...…：既可以表示时间也可以表示地点，译为“在…末；在…尽头”。因原由网为 at 表示在“时间点、小地点”，比如：at the door（在门口）、at the 7（在7点），所以at the end of 表示时间或者马路、街道、河流等的尽头。
At the end of last year, his family moved to their new housewww.58yuanyou.com. 去年底，他们家搬到了新房。
You can find the garden at the end of this road. 你能在这条路尽头找到那座花园。
2. by the www.58yuanyou.comend of…...：只能表示时间，意为“在...…前；到…...为止”，因为 by 含有“从以前延续到......”的意思，所以 by the end of…...常常用于完成时。
By the NZaJUWvPend of next year, wewww.58yuanyou.com'll have finished the building. 到明年年底，我们将完成修建。
We had learnd 8 units of the book by the end of last year. 到去年年底，我们已经学习了这本书中的8个单元。
3. in the end 与 at last 含义相同，可以互换，表示“终于、最后”，通常用于叙述过去发生的事情的结果。
In the end I could not bear it any more.
=At last I could not bear it any more. 到最后，我再也受不了了！
4. to the end 表示某一动作延续“到...…的终点为止”，这一动作必须是一个延续性动作，不可用短暂性动词。
Now that you have started, you'd better go on with the work to the end. 既然你已经开始了，最好干到底吧。
Go down the street to the end and you won't miss the cinema. 沿着这条街走到头，你一定会找到那个电影院。
