标点符号的使用，一直是英语学习者经常忽略的内容，英语老师也不一定会在日常教学中予以系统地梳理和教授。
为此，小编今天开始，就把英语中常用的标点符号原由网的常见用法进行系统梳理，供大家参考。
为了便于大家参考，我将只梳理每种标点符号较为常见的用法，不做全面详尽的一一列举。
此外，为了便于大家理解，我也保留了每种标点符号用法的英文解释。
先从句号开始。
一、句号
句号在英式英语里叫做full stop，但在美式英语里被称作period。
英语里的句号位于最后一个www.58yuanyou.com单词的右下角，其书写符号为黑圆点“.”。
要注意与中文句号“。”的书写区别。
句号常见的用法有：
（一）用于完整的句子末尾
to mark the end of a senten//www.58yuanyou.comce that is a complete statement
如：
All their meals arrived at the same time.
（二）用于句子片段的末尾
to mark the end of原由网 a group of words that don't 原由网form a conventional sentence, so as to emphasize a statement
如：
It's never acceptable to arrive late. Not under any circumstances.
（三）用于缩略语的末尾
in some abbreviations, for example etc., Jan., or a.m.
如：
Please return the form by Monday 8 Dec.at the latest.
The shop has groceries, toiletries, etc.and is open all day.
【注意】
如果缩略语位于句末，则句末无需再使用句号。（If an abbreviation with a full stop comes at the end of a sentence you dont need to add another full stop）
如：
Bring your own pens, pencils, rulers, etc.
（四）用于网址和邮箱中
in website and email addresses
如：
www.OxfordDictionaries.com
