一、为什么把There be句型又称为"存在句"?
我们受到中文思维的影响，一说到“有”，第一个就想到have/has这个动词。所以There句型就成了一个难点。简单地说，有两种情况下我们到there be句型：
（1）重点突出“在某地有……”
There is a computer in the room. 房间里有一台电脑。
（2）直接以“有……”开头的中文无主句。
There are two TV plays every evening. 每晚有两场电视剧。
二、万变不离其宗的基本结构：There be +主语+ 地点/时间状语。
（1）There be 句型的时态变化
一般现在时1. There is someone at the door to see you.
一般将来时2. There will be a meeting this evening.
现在完成时3. ---Have there been any letters from Jack lately? ---No, there hasn’t.
过去完成时4. There had been many such accidents beforeyou came.
一般过去时5. There were so many people before me so I had towait in line.
（2）There be 句型中be 可以加上其他的动词：
There is certain to(一定会),
Ther原由网e is going to (将要),
There is likely to (可能),
Therehad better (最好) be …………
Therehas to (必须)
There used to (过去常)
There appears/seems（似乎）
There happens to(恰好)
Theremust/should havebeen(一定/本应)
例如：
1.There used to be a grocery store on the corner. 以前在这个街口有家杂货店。
2.There is certain to be something wrong with theengine. 发动机一定是出了毛病。
3.There appears to have been a nasty accident. 似乎有一起严重的事故。
4.There might be snow at night. 晚上可能有雪。
5.There appeared to be nobody willing to help. 看来没人愿意帮忙。
6.There used to be a building here. 过去这儿有一座楼房。
7.There happened to be a man walking by. 碰巧有个人在此经过。
8.There doesn't seem to be much hope. 好象没有太大的希望。
9.There must be something wrong. 一定有问题。
10.There ought not to be so many people. 不应该有这么多的人。
11.There might still be hope . 可能还有点希望。
12.There may be a rain this afternoon. 今天下午可能有雨。
13.There used to be a cinema here before the war. 战争之前，这儿有一家电影院。
（3）There句型中be可以用其他表示“存在”含义的动词代替：
come (来),
develop (产生),
exist (存在),
fall (落下),
follow (跟随),
happen (发生),
lie (躺着),
live (住着),
occur (发生),
remain (还有),
rise (升起),
stand (站着)
这些动词可以有时态变化，及物动词还//www.58yuanyou.com可以有语态变化。例如：
1.There lived a rich man. 这以前住着一个富翁。
2.Then there came a knock at the door. 然后有人敲门。
3.There followed a terrible noise. 然后是传来了可怕的声音。
4.Suddenly there entered a strange man. 突然进来了一个奇怪的人。
5.There fell a deep silence. 突然一片寂静。
6.There remains one more test to be carried out beforeputting the instrument into operation. 在使用这一设备之前要完成一项试验。
7.Not long after this, there occurred a sudden revolutionin public taste. 此后不久，公众的情趣发生了突然的变化。
8.There stands at the center of the square the Monument tothe People’s Heroes. 在广场的中央矗立着人民英雄纪念碑。
三、There be句型常见的错误
（1）There be中的“双谓语”错误。
例如：There were many people watchedthe film.（违背了“一主一谓”原则，是典型的fragments——即双谓语或主谓残缺。）正确的表达如下例：
1.There were many people watchingthe film.
= There were many peoplewho watchedthe film.
有很多人看了这部电影。
2.There is a purse lyingon the ground.
=There is a purse that lies onthe ground.
地上有一个钱包。
3.There are five minutes leftnowwww.58yuanyou.com.
=There are five minutes that are leftnow.
现在还有5分钟。
（2）反意疑问句：应与there be对应，而不是依据主语。
1.There is a radio on the table, isn't there?
桌子上有一台收音机，是吧？
2.There are more than fifty classes in your school, aren't there?
你们班有50多名学生，是吧？
（3）主谓一致：遵循“就近原则”，即be与后面最邻近的主语一致。
要采取就近一致原则，和* 近be的主语一致。如：
1.There is a pen, two rulers in the box. 盒子里有一只钢笔，两把尺子。
2.There are two boysand a teacher at the school gate.门口有两个男孩，一个老师。
（4）There be 与have的替换：是否有“人格”主语
所谓“人格”主语，也就是“可以拥有”该事物的主语。例如：
There is nothing but a book in my bag.
=I have nothing but a book in my bag. 包里只有一本书。
“我（I）”是一个人格主语，因为“我”可以“有”这本书，但是不能说
In the bag has a book（介词词组不能做主语）
The bag has a book（bag无人格，也不能做主语）
当然我们不能就此认为：只有人类名词才能用have，英语中也有一些被视为人格化的名词，例如某些国家、城市等。如可以说Chinahas the largest population。
四、固定结构的There句型
1.Thereis no sense/point in doing 做某事是没有用的，没有意义的
There is nosense in making him angry.跟他生气是没有用的。
There in nosense in going alone. 一个人去是没有好处的。
2.Thereis no need to do 没有必要做某事
There is noneed to worry. 没有必要担心。
There is noneed to give him so much money. 根本没有必要给他那么多的钱。
3.There is thought/said/reported to be 人们认为有/据说有/据报道有
There isthought to be an army between in these two countries。人们认为两国间有一战。
There isreported to be a better way to cure cancer原由网.据报道找到一种更好的治疗癌症的方法。
4.原由网Thereare many people thinking that有很多人认为
There was agirl standing near the gate. 有个女孩站在大门口。
There arestill many people believing in the existence of God.仍有很多人相信神的存在。
5.There is something wrong with （某物）出了问题
There wassomething wrong with my car so I had to call a taxi.我的车坏了，只好叫出租。
6.Where there is…, there is… 哪里有……哪里就有……
Where thereis a will, there is a way.
Where thereis water, there is life.
