在《新概念英语》第二册第34课的难点部分出现了有关call的常见短语，今天我就跟大家做个梳理分享。
一、call at
该短语表示“拜访；停靠”，后面主要接拜访或停靠的地点。如：
拜访：I shall call at his home tomorrow. （我明天要到他家里拜访。）
停靠：The ship called at several ports between Dalian and Shanghai. （这艘船在大连和上海之间停靠了几个港口。）
二、call on
该短语主要表示“号召；拜访”，后面主要接号召或拜访的对象（一般指人）。如：
【注意】
号召：He called on the workers to fight for their rights. （他号召工人为争取自己的权利而斗争。）
拜访：I'd like to call on you this Sunday. （我想这个星期天来找你。）
同样表示“拜访”，call at接的是地点，而call on接的是人。
三、call out
该短语主要表示“召集；叫喊”。如：
召集：The captain called out the members of his team. （队长召集他的队员们。）
叫喊：The injured soldiers called out in pain. （受伤的士兵疼得大叫。）
四、call up
该短语主要表示“打电话；使想起；征召”。如：
打电话：She called up a friend just for a chat. （她打电话给一个朋友，只是要聊聊天。）
想起：She can still call up scenes of childhood. （她仍能想起儿时的情景。）
征召：He was called up at the beginning of the war. （战争开始时他就被征召入伍了。）
五、call off
该短语主要表示“取消”。如：
They wanted to get us to call off the strike. （他们想让我们取消这次罢工。）
六、其他相关短语（一）call for
该短语主要表示“需要；要求”。如：
需要：The negotiations will call for considerable dexter原由网ity. （进行这些谈判需要相当圆滑的手腕。）
要求：They called for a radical www.58yuanyou.comreform of our tax system. （他们要求对税收制度进行根本改革。）
（二）call in
该短语主要表示“召集；邀请”。如：
召集：Police were called in to break up the meeting. （出动了警察将集会驱散。）
邀请：How many friends did you call in? （你邀请了多少朋友？）
（三）call back
该短语表示“回电话；收回原由网”。如：
回电话：I'll call back at a more convenient time. （在方便的时候我会回电话的。）
收回：She final原由网ly took back her words. （她最终收回了自己的话。）
（四）call forth
该短语主要表示“唤起；引起”。如：
唤起：A difficult situation can call forth a person's best qualities. （困境能唤起一个人最好的品格。）
引起：The proposal called forth a good deal of cr原由网iticism. （这项提案引起很多批评。）
（五）call over
该短语表示“点名”。如：
Shall I call over the articles one by one? （要我把物品名称逐一念一遍吗？）
