一.“开学”用英语怎么说呢？
难道是“open school”？
显然这个答案是不正确的。这是一个典型的中式英语。
我们所说的“开学”指的是:假期结束、新学期开始，学生重新回到学校上课，而英文中的open school则是指学校开放了它的大门，并不表示开学，有可能是学校的其他活动。这里 open 是形容词，表示“开放的”。
校园开放日就是School Open Day，此外也可以用open house来表示。
“开学”到底该咋说？

可以用 start 和 begin
school starts / begins 表示“开学”
另外“开学”是新学期的开始
“学期”的英文是semester/term
所以new semester（或term） starts/begins 也可以表达开学

二.“学期”semester和term的区别
semester和term都可以表示“学期”，但两者的学期划分是不同的。
semester是双学期制，即一学年分为春季和秋季两个学期（the spring and fall semester）

三.去上学 ≠go to the school
虽然只是一个定冠词的区别，但 go to the school和 go to school这两个短语的意思完全不同。
有冠词the时，go to表示“去某个地方”，因此go to the school表示去学校。
不加冠词the时，go to表示“常规性出席”，因此go to school表示去上学。

He usually goes to school by bike.

五.“上网课”英语怎么说？
提到“上课”，我们说得最多的是 take a class
要强调在“网上”上课，可以说：take an online class
另外，course是“课程、科目”，所以“上网课”也可以说：take an online course
