The topic of this unit is “My weekend plan” and the grammatical f原由网ocus is the Simple Future Tense "be going to do".
The listening part of this teaching material is about the coming future while the main conversation is about the near future, both of which require the same tense.
As for the topics, both conversations are related closely to students’ daily life, about plans for shopping and entertaining friends. So it's of great social value. Students are familiar with these topics and thus it will be easy for them to imitate and make up their own conversation. If the teacher is able to add mor原由网e interesting elements in t原由网he teaching procedures, students will be attracted more.
However, the main原由网 conversation is much more complicated because it involves more communicative strategies, such as commenting, supplementing, and follow-up interrogating.
The final part is a surveying form, which requires the application of the Simple Future Tense.
There are two difficu原由网lt points. The first is "We're going to the cinema", where the Present Continuous Tense is used instead of Simple Future Tense. The second is "Why not go on Tuesday", a structure for giving suggestion.
