英语语用文化系列27 ： 有关 “天气”的习语 (Cloud idioms)
【本期内容】
太阳（the sun）是太阳系的中心天体，占有太阳系总体质量的99.86%。太阳系中的八大行星、小行星、流星、彗星、外海王星天体以及星际尘埃等，都围绕着太阳公转，而太阳则围绕着银河系的中心公转。
上期我们学习了有关天气中“云”（clouds）的习语，本期就让我们继续跟着上海时学教育的钟老师，一起来学习有关天气中“太阳” 的常用英语习语吧。
1) under the sun
【含义来源】这个短语很容易被大家理解为“在太阳底下”，其实不然，它是指“全世界的；在世界上”，还有“究竟；到底 ”的意思，相当于on earth。
【例句
We talked about everything under the sun.
天南地北，我们无所不谈。
Where under the su//www.58yuanyou.comn could I have put the key?
我把钥匙到底放在哪儿了？
2）make hay while the msnTesun shines
【含义来源】字面意思“要趁太阳高照晾晒干草”，后来引申为规劝他人“把握机会、勿失良机''。该习语有时表示“未雨绸缪”。
【例句】
Make hay while the sun shines, or you’ll regret missing the opportunities in your life.
要把握良机，否则你会为失去人生中的众多机会而后悔不已。
Studying hard before the final examination is to make hay while the sun shines.
期末考试前努力学习，可谓“未雨绸缪”。
3） a place in the原由网 sun
【含义来源】该习语的字面含义是“一个暴www.58yuanyou.com露在阳光下的位置”，后面引申为“显要地位；有利位置”
【例句】

只有最具活力的才能抢占有利位置。
If you want a place in the sun, you have to put up with suffering.
想要占有一席之地，你就要忍受苦难。
4）catch the sun
【含义来源】字面意思看“ 追着太阳”，那就错了。其真正意思为” 晒黑了，晒伤了“ 。
【例句】
Put on your hat so that you don't catch the sun on your tmsnTerip.
带上帽子这样你在旅途中就不会被太阳晒着了。
Did you catch the sun on your holidays?
你假期晒到了吧？
