意外成功的“黑马”英语怎么说？千万别翻译成“black horse”！
1 “黑马”可不是black horse
中文里，关于 “马” 的成语实在太多，马到成功、一马当先、车水马龙...其实在英语中，关于马的俚语也不少，如果不了解它们的真正意思，很容易会引起误解
1、“a horse laugh”是什么意思？
a horse laugh可不是“一www.58yuanyou.com只马在笑”，意思是不信任的嘲笑，讥笑，狂笑。
例如：

2、hold your horses耐心点
hold your horses 其实跟 “马” 一点关系都没有，它的正确意思是：不要着急；耐心点，也可以表达成 hold the horses。
例如：

3、“黑马”可不是black horse
黑马正确的说法是：dark horse。
英文词典里是这样解释的：
A candidate or competitor about whom little is known but who unexpectedly wins or succeeds.
鲜为人知的候选人或竞争者，意外地获胜或成功。
例如：

2 autumn是“秋天”，year是“年”
“autumn years”是秋天一样的年？想起中文的“四季如春”，难道这是英文里形容气候的短语？

Someone's autumn years are the later years of their life, especially after they have stopped working.
所以，autumn years是指：暮年，晚年，特别是指退休之后
例如：
