很多人记得4月1日是张国荣的祭日，也有很多人每年9//www.58yuanyou.com月16日在微博悼念乔任梁。可是有多少人知道，27年前的1月4日，有位年仅48岁的女作家用丝袜原由网结束了她多舛的生命。
比她大19岁的梁羽生称RoYAEPD她为“奇女子”，比她小9岁的贾平凹也“企慕着这位真正的作家”；有人说她是中国文学史上为数不多的用生命来写作的女作家，也有人说忘记她是中国文学的悲剧。
她就是三毛，她是作家，是爱情疯子！
她是Echo。
三毛的英文名echo，来源于希腊神话中的Echo女神。
希腊神话中，宙斯的老婆赫拉嫉妒山林女神Echo的美貌，让她失去了正原由网常的说话能力，只能重复别人的话的最后三个字。（这也就是Echo后来成为“回声”的由来）
美丽的Echo爱上了河神Cephisus之子Narcissus，一个骄傲和美貌都达到极致的男子 。
一天，Echo带着无法遏止的爱，紧紧地跟在Narcissus的身后，希望他能注意到自己，然后接受自己这颗爱他爱到痴迷、爱到发狂的心。
Narcissus感觉到有人在跟着自己，便问：“谁在这里？”
Echo欣喜万分，她多想告诉Narcissus她正为着对他的爱而被煎熬。可是她没有正常的说话能力，根本无法表达自己。
Narcissus没有等待别人的耐性，见Echo不回答，便欲抽身而去。
Echo不愿放弃这次机会，她想，只要让Narcissus多留一会儿，她就能多一分让他明白自己的希望。于是，她的回答冲口而出，只有三个字：“在这里。”
“不要这样。”Narcissus说，“我宁死也不愿让你来占有我！”
“占有我！”
Narcissus听了瘪了瘪嘴，认定跟着自己的这个姑娘是个轻浮的人，便满脸不屑地走了。
Echo羞愧难当，怀着悲痛的心情躲到了山林深处，最后憔悴而死。
报应女神纳米西斯为了惩罚Narcissus，让他爱上自己水中的影子，最后也使他得不到所爱的对象憔悴而死。
Narcissus死后，化成了水仙花，所以Narcissus在英语中也就是水仙花的意思。而由Narcissus也衍生出 Narcissism一词，意为“自恋”。
因为三毛，很多人也为自己取了Echo作为英文名。
也许是为了纪念心中这一道不曾消退的回声，也许是还做着那个遥远的撒哈拉的不醒的梦。
